Independent hip-hop legend and Kansas City’s proudest son, Tech N9ne, releases his latest single, “RDV,” via Strange Music. Serving as a tribute to his roots and the brothers he came up with, the single arrives alongside a fiery visual that’s both personal and powerful. This release comes on the heels of a major wave for the multi-platinum MC, who’s also hitting stages across the globe in one of his most extensive tours to date.
Anchored by a slick keyboard loop and a throwback-style beat, “RDV” (short for Rogue Dog Villains) finds Tech lyrically walking through his past in Kansas City. The track is a punching time capsule: nostalgic but urgent, with Tech’s sharp, staccato cadence slicing through the beat. Over a classic machine gun sample, he salutes the neighborhood crew that shaped his foundation. He closes the track with the declaration: “Aaron Yates, Tech N9ne, I’m a motherfucking Rogue Dog Villain!”
In the accompanying music video, Tech stands shoulder to shoulder with many of his day-one homies. Filmed in his hometown, the visual shows Tech smiling, vibing, and entirely in his zone. It’s a heartfelt salute to his origins and a reminder of how far he’s come.
The single follows the introspective 2024 joint “The Punishment (Lockdown),” which racked up over 1 million streams. Now, with “RDV” setting the tone, Tech’s launching into 2025 with a world-spanning tour that hits Australia, New Zealand, and over 30 cities across North America.
