Vybz Kartel Drops Reflective New Video for “God Is The Greatest”

No one can’t say Vybz Kartel is thankful for his new walk of life after being released from prison early. The undeniable King of Dancehall shows his appreciation for the higher power by releasing a reflective visual for his single “God Is The Greatest.”

Directed by the creative visionary AKA.RUPPI, the new video peels back the curtain on Kartel’s most pivotal year yet. From regaining his freedom to shutting down Jamaica’s National Stadium for his monumental Freedom Street concert, it’s clear that Kartel is taking full advantage of his newfound liberty.

Produced by TJ Records and Adidjahiem Records, “God Is The Greatest” is a soulful, motivating, and reflective track that taps deep into the rhythms of triumph and perseverance. The video captures intimate moments from Kartel’s recent trip to Miami, serving up candid scenes and raw energy with heavy-hitting cameos from none other than DJ Khaled and dancehall legend Bounty Killer.

The track comes straight from Kartel’s latest project, Viking (Vybz Is King): 10th Year Anniversary, which dropped on January 31, 2025. The album blends his classic, ground-breaking 2015 hits like “Unstoppable,” “Gon Get Better,” famously sampled by Fifth Harmon, “Dancehall,” and “Enchanting,” with fresh material that keeps his catalog dynamic and progressive. Fans are especially hyped for new joints like “Amout,” “Porn Flick” featuring Ishawna, “It A Tape,” “Dreams Are Made Of,” “Polite,” and “Str8 Vybz,” which doubles as the name of his new rum brand.

But that’s just the beginning of his 2025 flex. Kartel is gearing up for a powerhouse U.S. takeover with two back-to-back, sold-out shows at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 11th and 12th. Presented by Reggae Fest, these concerts mark his first U.S. stage appearances in over 20 years, a huge win following the reinstatement of his U.S. and U.K. visas.

Earlier this year, Kartel graced the red carpet at the 2025 Grammy Awards, snagging his first-ever nomination for Best New Reggae Album. He also took home the Impact Award at the prestigious MOBO Awards and blessed the stage with a fire performance.

After his Barclays dates, Kartel is setting his sights on Europe, with confirmed sets at SummerJam in Cologne, Germany, and London’s Wireless Festival in July.
