Cleo Sol announced the first tour of her career on Tuesday morning (Oct 20) with a post on her own Instagram. No publicist worked the story ahead of it, which is how she tends to release music, too. "I'm so happy to announce I'll be going on tour very soon," she wrote, before thanking fans for their patience with her.
The Gentlewoman Tour runs seven arena dates promoted by Live Nation, opening Tuesday, April 13, 2027, at Madison Square Garden. It closes May 1 at Oakland Arena, with CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore on April 16 and Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on April 19 in between. Chicago's United Center follows on April 21, then State Farm Arena in Atlanta on April 25 and the Kia Forum in Inglewood on April 28. Tickets go on sale Thursday (Oct 22) at 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster.
A singer who almost never sits for interviews can open a first tour in the Garden because of the system she works inside. Her husband and producer, Inflo, runs it through the Forever Living Originals label and the collective SAULT. For seven years that camp has taught an audience that the music shows up without warning and the live show may not come around again. A ticket became the one dependable way to get close.
The case for the Garden was made in March 2025, when Sol played three sold-out nights at Radio City Music Hall on March 23, 24 and 25. Those shows grossed $1,682,151, according to Pollstar Boxoffice Reports. Live Nation's announcement adds that her first North American appearances sold out quickly enough to force added New York dates.
NPR's Sidney Madden was in the hall on March 23 and reported a crowd of more than 5,000 dressed for a Sunday service. An 11-piece band carried five background vocalists, and the night opened with "Rose in the Dark" running into "When I'm in Your Arms." At one point Sol left the stage and walked an aisle of the room barefoot, reaching for hands and hugging fans on the way back up.
Ten days after the last Radio City night, she sold out the Hollywood Bowl on April 4 in her first headline show on the West Coast. Her son sat on a stool among the background singers that night, and she stopped between songs more than once to check on the crowd.
Radio City holds roughly 6,000 people, so the three New York nights together moved about as many fans as one sold-out concert at the Garden. The Bowl holds about 17,500, which makes the Forum date a lateral move in size rather than a leap. That leaves New York and five first-time cities as the places where the tour is asking for something new.
Inflo, born Dean Josiah Cover, has produced all five of Sol's solo albums. The run starts with Rose in the Dark in 2020 and moves through the double album Mother in 2021, Heaven and Gold in 2023, and now Gentlewoman. In 2022 he became the first Black producer to win Producer of the Year at the BRIT Awards. His credits by then included three songs on Adele's 30, Little Simz's Sometimes I Might Be Introvert and Michael Kiwanuka's Mercury Prize-winning Kiwanuka. "As the first Black Music producer to ever win a BRIT for Best Producer, I feel honoured to be a part of change," he said in the announcement.
SAULT, the collective he helms with Sol as lead vocalist, is where the approach was tested at scale. From its 2019 debut until late 2023, the group never played a show, never gave an interview and never released a music video. It still put out ten albums in roughly four years, each one arriving with little more than cover art and a release date. In November 2022 it dropped five of those albums at once as a free download.

When SAULT finally played live, the show was announced only days ahead. Tickets for the Dec 14, 2023, concert at the Drumsheds in north London went on sale Dec 11 at £100 each, a price that drew open complaints from fans online. The room still sold out within three hours. Sol, Little Simz and the rest of the performers appeared in masks, and the set ran past two hours with a choir and an orchestra behind them.
Sol's solo records follow the same script. Gentlewoman was announced on Aug 10 with a short clip and arrived ten days later, on Thursday, Aug 20, a fifteen-track album running just over an hour. It came with a short press note and no interview round, as HitsCulture reported in its release-week roundup. Songs like "Let Me Cry," "Family Ties" and "Force Of Love" are sung at conversational volume over arrangements that leave room around her voice. They found listeners through streaming and word of mouth rather than a press cycle.
Her Instagram handle is @gyallikeclee, and that account is where Tuesday's news broke, ahead of any magazine cover or morning-show spot. Seven years of surprise drops have trained fans to watch that feed and move fast when something lands on it. The Radio City sellouts were the first time that habit was measured in North American ticket sales.
Live Nation's own announcement names the open question when it notes that the tour will bring Sol's debut performances to Baltimore, Toronto, Chicago, Atlanta and Oakland. None of those cities has had a Cleo Sol date to buy before. Each is being asked to fill an arena on the first try, without the slow climb through clubs and theaters that most touring R&B acts make.
A useful comparison already sits on the 2027 calendar. Leon Bridges announced his Happiness Anytime Tour on Oct 8 with 30 North American dates, including his first headlining show at Madison Square Garden on May 1. That is the same night Sol closes in Oakland. Bridges reached the Garden a decade after his 2015 debut on Columbia, with arena nights mixed among amphitheaters and theaters across five months. Sol is attempting the same building with seven dates on her first tour.
The two routes even cross in Toronto, where both play Scotiabank Arena eight days apart, Sol on April 19 and Bridges on April 27.
The harder question is what happens to the show itself inside a bigger room. At Radio City, a barefoot walk down the aisle put Sol within reach of a real share of the house. At the Bowl, her check-ins between songs reached the back rows because the night was built around moments like that. In an arena set up for close to 20,000, the same gestures touch a smaller fraction of the seats, and the 11-piece band will carry more of the load.
Pollstar's Radio City gross gives the Garden a baseline, and Thursday's on-sale will show how much of that New York demand was waiting for a bigger room. The other six cities start from nothing, with an album that came out in August, a seven-show itinerary and no interview on the schedule.
