BigXthaPlug spent the past year carrying a Dallas rap voice into rooms, and onto charts, that rarely make space for one. His next album turns the camera back toward the road that got him there.

The rapper has announced Better Over Time, an 18-track album due October 30 through 600 Entertainment and UnitedMasters. He revealed it with a cinematic trailer that moves from his childhood through his years on the football field before arriving at the stages he now headlines.

The rollout carried a quieter signal as well. Fans noticed BigX pulling his face off the artwork of earlier releases on streaming services, and the new cover is assembled from the faces those older projects used to wear.

Better Over Time follows I Hope You're Happy, the country-leaning album he released in August 2025 with guests including Bailey Zimmerman, Luke Combs, Shaboozey and Darius Rucker. BigX kept his lumbering, low-register delivery at the center of those songs, and the record debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on Top Country Albums, the highest chart entry of his career. Its lead single, "All the Way" with Zimmerman, had already opened inside the top five of the Hot 100 that spring.

The first look at the new album points somewhere else. "LITE," released September 18, pairs him with Atlanta rapper Belly Gang Kushington, a member of the 2026 XXL Freshman class. The record drops the acoustic guitars that shaped much of I Hope You're Happy and sets BigX back over the bass-heavy Southern production where his voice first became recognizable. The video, which BigX co-directed with longtime collaborator Jerry Morka, travels from a smoky nightclub to a late-night gas station meetup with friends.

After a crossover that size, BigX had every commercial reason to double down on country with a sequel stacked with Nashville features. He chose to open the new campaign beside a Southern rapper whose breakout, "Friend Do," was built for Atlanta strip clubs rather than country radio.

His expanding orbit shows up elsewhere in the past year, including a spot among the long guest list on Trippie Redd's 2026 album NDA. Before the country records took hold, he was already playing bigger rooms as a supporting act on Lil Baby's WHAM World Tour.

"Better over time" can describe a commercial climb, a sharpened pen or the slower remaking of a life, and the charts and the catalog already account for the first two. On October 30, BigX gets to show what he has to say about the third.
