Remy Ma put September 25 on the calendar for one song, then arrived Friday with six. Her previously announced collaboration with Keke Wyatt, “Why I Get Married?,” now leads into ALIMONY, a surprise EP released alongside the single’s official video.
The EP features six tracks and a 19-minute runtime, released through Reminisce Records, DNA Music Group and Hitmaker Distro. What had been promoted as a single-and-video occasion has become a compact project bearing a title that leaves little distance between Remy’s music and the public conversation surrounding her marriage.
HitsCulture included the Wyatt collaboration in this week’s New Music Friday roundup, following a campaign built around previews, a pre-save link and a fan-experience giveaway. The EP expands that release beyond the song listeners had been told to expect.
Remy described her intentions in a statement shared with Complex: “I wanted this project to feel like a conversation between women.” She also addressed the attention paid to her personal life, saying, “I wanted to put that energy into the music.”
Those ideals gives the project an audience beyond people following her separation from Papoose. Her statement describes women comparing experiences, questioning decisions and finding room for humor while moving forward. Remy presents the recording process as a return to enjoying creation after years of hearing other people discuss her story.
The personal context was already part of the rollout. HitsCulture’s September 12 coverage of Papoose’s “Jezebel” documented the arrival of his record and Remy’s announcement of the Wyatt collaboration. With ALIMONY, listeners now have a longer release to consider alongside that earlier exchange.
The production roster includes Hitmaka, Ron Browz, Platinum Sellers, Juice Dukes, DJ Mac and Crash Dummy. Wyatt is also not the only R&B collaborator attached to the project; Tink appears on "Cry In The Wraith."
The EP joins a run of 2026 releases that includes “W.Y.F.L.,” “Wanna Go” and “Say Yea,” along with her appearance on “Ever Since U Left Me (Big Bronx Remix).” Those records precede a release that gathers this moment under one title, with “Why I Get Married?” serving as its first announced entry point.
