Since 2023, LL COOL J has sold hip-hop heads a cabin, a lineup and a few nights in the Bahamas. His Rock The Bells brand is now making the same pitch to people who slow-danced to Ginuwine, with the added suggestion that they bring somebody they haven't met yet. Rock The Bells and Sixthman have announced Rock The Bells Presents: I Need Luv Cruise, a four-night R&B sailing from Miami to Nassau aboard the Norwegian Jewel, Nov. 15 to 19, 2027.
The first lineup lists Tank, Xscape, Ginuwine, Mýa, K. Michelle, Kenny Lattimore, Eric Benét, Kindred the Family Soul and Eric Bellinger, with Jagged Edge booked for a special show in port. Songwriter and producer Bryan-Michael Cox and DJ Aktive are sailing as well, the announcement's header also names DJ Miss Milan, and Rock The Bells says more artists and special guests will be added.
Presale sign-ups are open at RTBINEEDLUVCRUISE.COM, with the first round closing Oct. 18 at 11:59 p.m. ET and a final registration window running until Oct. 26 at the same hour. Any cabins left after the presale go to the general public on Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. ET, and guests who book during the presale save $100 per cabin before the price goes up.
The first 600 cabins to book also get to pick one of two early bird perks, either an exclusive Ginuwine show on the ship or a photo with Mýa. Rock The Bells has not published cabin fares for the new sailing, which leaves the $100 presale savings without a sticker price to measure it against.
The music is the familiar part of the offer. Between sets, the announcement promises matchmaking, singles mixers, couples experiences, wellness sessions, interactive classes and conversations with relationship experts. It markets the trip to couples, singles and friend groups in the same breath.
"R&B has always given people the words for what they feel but don't always know how to say," LL COOL J said in the announcement. He highlighted the cruise as a way to build a whole vacation around the bond listeners already have with the music, whether they sail with a partner, with friends or alone.
Most of the bill comes from the same stretch of R&B radio, which is why the love theme doesn't have to be invented on deck. Xscape's "Who Can I Run To" came out in 1995, and Ginuwine's Timbaland-produced "Pony" followed in 1996, the same year Kenny Lattimore released the debut album that carried "For You." Eric Benét's duet with Tamia, "Spend My Life With You," arrived in 1999. Jagged Edge, the group handling the port date, scored its biggest wedding-season record with "Let's Get Married" in 2000.
Kindred the Family Soul may be the most literal booking on the ship. Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon are married and have been recording together since their 2003 debut, Surrender to Love. Bryan-Michael Cox brings the writer's side of the era, having co-written Usher's "Burn" with Jermaine Dupri, and K. Michelle and Eric Bellinger extend the bill into the 2010s.
Several of the headliners arrive with current runs rather than reunion stories. Tank's 2026 single "Control" gave him his 11th No. 1 on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart, tying Charlie Wilson for the most by a male artist. HitsCulture laid out that chart record when he followed it with "Yes" in July. Mýa put out her tenth studio album, Retrospect, in May through her own Planet 9 label, eight years after her previous full-length.
The early bird perks lean on two names in particular. Ginuwine's perk is an exclusive show on top of his slot on the main lineup, and the photo option goes to Mýa, who won a Grammy in 2002 for "Lady Marmalade" with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim and Pink.
The new sailing is built on a hip-hop cruise that Rock The Bells says has developed a community of returning passengers and is now in its fourth year. The first edition sailed in November 2023 aboard the Norwegian Pearl and sold out in less than a week. By 2025 the trip had moved to the same Norwegian Jewel and was sailing from Miami to Bimini. That year's bill put The LOX, Fabolous, Lupe Fiasco and Da Brat on the first wave, with fares from $1,180 to $7,191.
Sixthman, which is marking its 25th anniversary, says it has hosted more than 515,000 guests on over 225 vacations at sea and on land since 2001. Billboard named the company to its Touring Power Players list in 2025, and its homeports include Miami, Tampa, Boston and New York. On I Need Luv it handles the ship and Rock The Bells handles the booking, the same split that has run the hip-hop sailings since the first one left Miami.
Four nights on one ship gives singles more shared hours than most dating plans allow. Repeated time in the same place is the subject of Athletic Dating's look at why fall rec leagues outperform the first date. The Jewel has basketball and pickleball courts, a pool deck with hot tubs, the Pulse Fitness Center, Mandara Spa, the Gem Club Casino and a mix of specialty and complimentary dining.
Nassau gives passengers a full day ashore for the beach, the water or a slower afternoon before the night's shows resume onboard. Shore excursions are expected to open roughly four to six weeks before the ship leaves, and only guests who have received an official booking number can reserve them.
The ship doesn't leave for more than 13 months, but the presale clock is already running. Rock The Bells has a nearer date on the calendar, its Nov. 29 festival at Newark's Prudential Center. The first presale window for I Need Luv closes this Sunday at 11:59 p.m. ET.
