An actor taking a rap alias is the kind of premise that usually collapses on contact, and the room CZARFACE assembled around it gives this one somewhere to stand. Busta Rhymes, Method Man and El-P are not favors you collect for a novelty record, and "Brothers Grimm" sets the tone before Hardy's Frankie Pulitzer takes up as much of the tracklist as he does. Deck, 7L and Esoteric have spent a decade on comic-book conceits, so the concept is less of a departure than the casting.
