Three weeks ago, on Friday (Oct 16), Lil Baby posted photographs of a whiteboard to Instagram with seventeen song titles written across it. The caption set the clock running: "It's That Season," followed by "Countdown Starts Now. 20 Days." The countdown ran out at midnight. The album on that whiteboard, FRESH, heads a New Music Friday that also brings Skepta's first solo album in seven years and a reunion record from SOB x RBE, the Vallejo, California group whose debut album arrived in 2018.

For anyone deciding where to start, the short answer is Lil Baby's FRESH, a 17-song Quality Control and Motown release with Future and Young Thug on the same track. Skepta's The Fork and Knife is the record with the longest road behind it, and SOB x RBE's From The Land is the one with the most to prove. Two R&B returns, from B2K and from Louis York, were set for today as well, and the details on both are below.

Every date here was checked against label announcements and streaming listings, and where a record had no store page by Thursday evening (Nov 5), we say so plainly rather than guess at what arrived overnight.

Lil Baby, FRESH (Quality Control Music/Motown Records)

The Apple Music listing for FRESH carries a November 6 date, seventeen songs and a copyright line that reads "Quality Control Music, LLC, under exclusive license to UMG Recordings, Inc.," and Apple names the label as Quality Control Music/Motown Records. It is the 31-year-old Atlanta rapper's fifth studio album and his first since WHAM, which he released in January 2025.

Fifteen of the seventeen songs are solo. The exceptions sit at track 7, where Future and Young Thug appear alongside Rylo Rodriguez, and at track 13, "In Your Head," where Rylo returns on his own. That one track carries more weight than a single feature usually does, because Lil Baby has already told Complex what it stands in for: "There probably won't be a me and Future tape anymore because Thug is back. So, whatever it would be, it'll be all three of us." He added, about the sessions themselves, "Everybody was in the studio."

The single doing the commercial work is "Dead Fresh," track 10, produced by Pharrell Williams. By the time the album was announced, the song had spent twelve weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 with a No. 18 peak. It had also reached No. 1 at both Urban and Rhythmic radio, which gives Quality Control a working radio record to pull the album behind it. One song that fans associated with the rollout, "Coast 2 Coast" with Bally Baby and Fatt Smaxk, is not on the official digital tracklist, and the album closes instead on "Keep Goin."

Our FRESH tracklist and features report holds the full sequence for readers who want it before pressing play.

Skepta, The Fork and Knife (Big Smoke/Epic Records)

Skepta first named this album in January 2024, when it was called Knife and Fork and was supposed to arrive that year. It took until the first week of October 2026 for a firm date, and the title flipped on the way. The Apple Music pre-release page lists fifteen songs for November 6 under a copyright line crediting Big Smoke Records "under exclusive licence to Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment UK Limited." The phonographic dates read 2025 and 2026, a small paper trail of how long the record has been in the making.

It is his first solo album since Ignorance Is Bliss in 2019, and in the seven years between them the London rapper spent his energy on collaborations, festival sets and singles that did not always land on a tracklist. "Gas Me Up (Diligent)," released in 2024, is on this one. So is "Victory Lap," the record with Fred again.. and PlaqueBoyMax that earned a nomination at the 68th Grammy Awards, which means part of this album has already lived a full public life before release day. Several of the other songs were road-tested at his Reading Festival set in August.

In the post announcing the date, Skepta wrote, "Feels surreal even writing this," and described the record as "something conscious but still turnt up," which is about as plain a statement of intent as he has offered across a seven-year wait. The test for American listeners is whether a record built partly from songs they may already know still plays as a single argument from front to back, and that is the first thing worth listening for today.

SOB x RBE, From The Land (EMPIRE/SOB X RBE)

SOB x RBE were one of the loudest regional stories in rap in 2018, the year their debut album Gangin came out and "Paramedic!" landed on Black Panther: The Album. From The Land brings the trio of DaBoii, Slimmy B and Yhung T.O. back as a unit, and Apple Music lists it at thirteen songs for November 6 on EMPIRE.

The rollout has leaned on singles, "Someone," "Ten Summers" and the title track, each released ahead of the album with its own video. The one credited guest on the album is 1 Umbrella, who appears on track 6, "Her Loss." In announcing the record, the group explained the gap with a candor that the music industry rarely gets from a reunion press cycle: "Time gave us the chance to grow up, become fathers and understand what really matters. We never stopped being brothers."

The title points straight back to Vallejo, and so does the decision to keep the guest list to a single name. A record that runs thirteen songs with one feature is a bet that the three voices still carry a full album on their own, which was the whole premise of the group in the first place.

B2K and Louis York: Two R&B Returns Dated for Today

B2K set Eclipse, the group's first studio album since Pandemonium! in December 2002, for November 6 on BPC Music Group. Omarion, Lil Fizz, J-Boog and Raz-B have released two singles from it so far: "Mileage," which came out July 17 with Ethos producing, and "Lil Freak," which Apple Music dates to October 14. When the first single arrived, the group said, "Mileage is just the beginning, and we're excited to finally start sharing this next chapter with our fans." The album itself had no Apple Music listing and no public tracklist by Thursday evening, so we are reporting the date as announced and leaving confirmation to the store pages. Our report on the Lil Freak single and the Eclipse announcement has the background on the group's return.

B2K

Louis York, the duo of songwriter-producers Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, set The Heart of the Matter for today through Weirdo Workshop, the company the two built for themselves after years writing for other people. The singles so far are "Starlight," "I Found A Home," "The Ballad Of A Broken Man" and "Favorite Sweater," the last of which Apple dates to October 14. Of that song, the duo said, "'Favorite Sweater' is a massive joy bomb," and added that "if you listen a little closer it's a call to action to rebel against apathy and despair." As with B2K, no album page or tracklist had posted by Thursday evening, so treat the date as the duo's own until the album page goes live. Kelly and Harmony founded Louis York in 2015, and this is their third album after American Griots in 2019 and Songs with Friends in 2024.

Where the Week Leaves Us

This is a week weighted toward rap, with three confirmed albums on three very different kinds of deals: a major-label partnership, a British independent licensing to a Sony division, and a reunited regional group on a distribution-first company. The R&B side rests on two veteran acts, and neither had an album page up by Thursday evening.

Next Friday (Nov 13) already has Westside Gunn's HEELMATIC on Mass Appeal dated, and the FRESH sequence, with its single shared track for Future and Young Thug, is where we start this weekend.
