About This Release

Skepta first named this album in January 2024 as Knife and Fork, and it took until the first week of October 2026 for a firm date to arrive with the title reversed. It is his first solo album since Ignorance Is Bliss in 2019, and the fifteen songs carry part of that seven-year stretch with them, from “Gas Me Up (Diligent)” in 2024 to “Victory Lap” with Fred again.. and PlaqueBoyMax, which earned a nomination at the 68th Grammy Awards and sits in the final slot.

The guest list reaches well past London, with Aya Nakamura on “Chippie,” Asake on “Aloe Vera” and Memphis veteran Project Pat on “Cold Shower,” while lead single “Innocent Smile” sets a hook from Suggs of Madness over Chase & Status breakbeats. In the post announcing the date, Skepta called the record “something conscious but still turnt up,” and anyone at his Reading Festival set in August has already heard several of these songs in front of a crowd.
