Kiefer spent three records on Stones Throw building a sound he calls "Over The Breaks," and Memory Bomb carries it to Blue Note for his first album there as a leader. The room is bigger than his earlier tapes, with CARRTOONS and Shibo co-producing and a guest list running from drummer Nate Smith and saxophonist Walter Smith III to Erick the Architect and Amber Navran of Moonchild. Lead single "NewLevels NewDevils" pairs Erick the Architect with Tony Stone, the entry point for rap listeners who already know his keys from Anderson .Paak's Ventura.
