Kurupt and Snoop Dogg reconnect on “Neighbors,” bringing their decades-long chemistry back to Death Row over production from Rick Rock. The record stays close to the geography that shaped Kurupt, with references to Crenshaw, Slauson, Second Avenue and Arlington grounding the G-funk production in specific Los Angeles history.

The pairing reaches back to Death Row's original 1990s run, when Kurupt emerged alongside Daz Dillinger in Tha Dogg Pound while Snoop became one of the label's defining voices. “Neighbors” does not treat that history as nostalgia. Kurupt and Snoop use it as the foundation for another neighborhood record built around where they came from and the relationships that survived the decades since.
