Why we’re listening
Ray Vaughn drops off "Set It Off," his latest single since the Long Beach rapper signed with RCA Records in June 2025, five years after he joined Top Dawg Entertainment. The track opens without drums before trap percussion comes in, and the verses stay on hustling and getting paid.
Vaughn has already released "Look Don't Touch," "Vibe Responsibly" with Isaiah Rashad and "Hit and Run" with AZChike this year. His 2025 mixtape, The Good, The Bad, The Dollar Menu, carried guest verses from Jay Rock and Rashad, and it came out two months before XXL named him to its 2025 Freshman class.
