Why we’re listening
Gunna previewed the song on Monday (Oct 5) with a clip of himself doing incline push-ups against the trunk of a convertible, and HitsCulture covered the SPLURGE rollout when the artwork went up. The music video, directed by Spike Jordan, features tennis star Coco Gauff, helicopter flights over California and appearances from SB signees Casper Bluff, Nechie and Dracc.
Gunna spends the record on the choices that come with money, down to whether he drives himself or lets a chauffeur take the wheel. SPLURGE still has no release date, tracklist or guest list, and Gunna told Power 105.1 in September that the album could arrive the following month "if I feel ready." He has described the project as the introduction of an "upper-echelon artist" who has moved to another level.
